Meet the Centre Manager

Hi! My name is Laxmi, it’s my pleasure to introduce myself as the Centre Director at Birches ELC in Ormond. I have a deep passion for early childhood education and care, and have been dedicated to this field for over three and a half years.

My journey began working with various age groups, from nursery to age 5. I believe children thrive in safe and secure environments, which is why I strive to build positive and meaningful relationships with them. This helps them flourish within their learning journey, becoming strong, independent, and confident learners.

I look forward to getting to know your family and being a part of your child’s learning journey. At Birches ELC, we are a family, a team, and we pride ourselves on providing exceptional care that nurtures the holistic development of each child. Our safe and welcoming space is designed for children to explore, create, and learn through play. We foster a sense of belonging where every child feels valued and supported.

I’m genuinely excited to be on this journey as Centre Director. While I enjoy guiding, supporting, and inspiring the little ones, my biggest strengths lie in nature play, loose parts play, and activities that encourage critical thinking and outdoor exploration.
Growing up in the Himalayas playing outside in the sacred space of Nepal instilled in me the importance of sensory experiences and outdoor play. We can build on this by offering children a variety of sensory experiences and encouraging them to play outside several times a day. This supports their physical development, wellbeing, builds confidence, and allows them to explore themselves.

Thank you for considering Birches Early Learning Centre for your child’s early education. I look forward to welcoming you and your family to our community. Together, we can create beautiful memories and shape the bright future of your children.
