Informed and Relevant Learning Programs

At Birches Early Learning we understand children begin their learning journey from the moment they are born and the first eight years of a child’s life is considered fundamental in establishing core values, sense of identity, and self-worth. We believe parents and families are the first educator and our role as Educators is to facilitate a collaborative and supportive approach throughout your child’s developmental and learning journey.

Our learning programs are informed by the following two approved learning frameworks:

National Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) which is based on the fundamental belief that children’s lives are characterised as “Belonging, Being and Becoming”.

Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) which identifies five learning outcomes for children that we strive toward:

  1. 1. Children have a strong sense of identity (IDENTITY)
  2. 2. Children are connected with and contribute to their world (COMMUNITY)
  3. 3. Children have a strong sense of wellbeing (WELLBEING)
  4. 4. Children are confident and involved learners (LEARNING)
  5. 5. Children are effective communicators (COMMUNICATION)

Documented Learning:

At Birches Early Learning Centre our child’s development, routines and daily activities are recorded for you to enjoy and share. As part of our daily practices, we record information and observations that are designed to not only keep you informed, but to further extend on your child’s abilities, interests and strength.
